  • Inmarsat (the International Mobile Satellite Organization) is an 84 country international organization, set up to provide world-wide mobile satellite communications for the maritime community, and for commercial, emergency and safety applications on land, at sea and in the air. Inmarsat operates a global satellite system which is used by independent service providers to offer a range of communications services for customers on the move or in remote locations.   • Intelsat (International Telecommunications Satellite Organization) is an international non-profit cooperative of more than 140 member nations. Owners contribute capital in proportion to their use of the system and receive a return on their investment. Users (member or non-member) pay a charge for all INTELSAT services, depending on the type, amount, and duration of the service. Basically Intelsat operates as a wholesaler, providing services to end-users through the INTELSAT member in each country.
