The Scott eVest is a 17-pocket jacket that holds, conceals and connects cell phones, pagers, PDA’s (personal digital assistant) and CD/MP3 players through the patent-pending Technology Enabled Clothing™ system. TECHNOLOGY ENABLED CLOTHING has developed a system to conceal conduits inside garments, its patent pending, Personal Area Network (PAN). The PAN allows connection of electronic devices to each other and to headsets, using a hidden conduit system. The Wearables Lab is a site maintained by the Computer Science Department of Stanford University. The wearables lab has designed a wearable PC, the "Matchbox" PC. Work is being done their to improve the wearable interface, including research into speech I/O and the development of Thumbcode, a device independent digital sign language for typing on wearables.
