"Chrysler to Offer In-Vehicle Wi-Fi"

According to a Chrysler press release issued today, 'The system transforms the vehicle into a "hot spot" to deliver the Internet directly to the vehicle, for instant access to Web sites, e-mail, personalized music, online gaming, photo albums, and more.' The combo Wi-Fi/cellular in-vehicle hotspot will be created after market by Mopar, the automobile parts and service arm of Chrysler for Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep vehicles..."

The [Auroral Kilometric Radiation] bursts - Mutel and colleagues studied 12,000 of them - originate in spots the size of a large city a few thousand miles above Earth and above the region where the Northern Lights form..."

"Wi-Fi Alliance now certifying devices for Voice Over Wi-Fi applications"
From a Wi-Fi Alliance press release, 30 June 2008: "...Today, the Wi-Fi Alliance announced the Wi-Fi Certified Voice-Personal program as well as some of the first products that have achieved this certification. This groundbreaking new certification program extends beyond interoperability testing to test the performance of products and help ensure that they deliver good voice quality over the Wi-Fi link... Estimates from analyst firms forecast shipments of Wi-Fi/cellular converged phones to number between 250 and 350 million units in 2011... By allowing subscribers to utilize Wi-Fi for voice as well as data on converged phones, carriers can manage licensed spectrum resources better, as subscribers make and receive calls using a combination of licensed and unlicensed Wi-Fi spectrum. Additionally, voice over the Wi-Fi network can mean improved indoor coverage..."
